WHAT TO EXPECT AT TRYOUTS:

MATERIAL

You will learn the fight song, and two sideline cheers on your own before tryouts with a whole group review on April 28th. You will stunt, tumble and jump at tryouts and perform the material you have learned. Tryout material will be emailed to athletes who are registered for tryouts starting April 20th to the email provided on registration form.

WHAT TO EXPECT

All week we want you to show us who you are! Show up as the athlete you want to be in this program. We want to coach athletes who want to be present, who work hard, who use their time wisely, and who make others around them better. Inspiring others is part of the job description in high school cheerleading. If you want to make a team, show your leadership skills, respect of the sport and coaches, and avoid anything that could portray you as having an attitude, being part of a “clique”. Try things that are new, trust the coaching, and follow examples set by veterans.

Day 1: Sideline dance, Fight song, cheer and jumps coaching. Begin stunting .

Day 2: Jumps, tumbling, stunting (begin putting together sequences). *You will be put in stunt groups for the rest of the week based on this day*

Day 3: Stunting, quick material review

*You will work with your group to perform the sideline, cheer and fight song, and then will work on a choreographed stunt sequence.

Day 4: Practice for the first hour and review, stretch. Then, final tryouts for each group.

**All tryout decisions are final however, you may request a face-to-face meeting with coaches to discuss results.**
