I'm Dave, a stained glass artist specializing in transforming unique liquor bottles into one-of-a-kind lamps. I started years ago making a few stained glass lamps for myself. When a workman saw them in my home and suggested, "You should try that with wine bottles." That spark a refined idea, and I now use liquor bottles with the most interesting shapes and character.
Each piece is inspired by the bottle itself. I choose between the classic lead came method or the Tiffany copper foil technique based on the way the bottle "speaks" to me. This process is supported by my community; local bartenders, especially the wonderful Victoria at The Hibernian Pub, who saves their most interesting empty bottles for me. Stop by the pub and tell her Dave said to say "Hi".
