In this sequence from The Good Dinosaur, Spot and Arlo are attacked by a group of cunning and intelligent pterodactyls. While doing research for this sequence, I was inspired by WW2 bomber pilots who would fly above the clouds to avoid being detected and would only swoop down to make their attack before disappearing again. This element of surprise inspired the suspense of this scene.
In this sequence from The Good Dinosaur, Spot gets his name from Arlo after meeting a shaman on their journey. The shaman character was one that I played a big role in developing and writing dialogue for. It was super fun!
In an early version of Toy Story 4, Bonnie had trouble reading and as a result, she would play with her toys instead. In this cold open, I came up with a fun and imaginative pirate themed play time where Bonnie and her toys were the protagonists. Knowing that she didn’t like reading, we knew that the antagonistic element had to involve books.
In this sequence from Soul, Joe and 22 have switched bodies and are going through NYC trying to find a man named Moonwind to help Joe switch back into his body. This sequence was a lot of fun to develop and do scratch dialogue for.
