About me
About me
I am an associate professor and the head of program of PhD in Engineering research program at the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. I am also a registered Chartered Engineering with the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET), UK and a HRD Corp Certified Trainer in Malaysia.

My research is to facilitate clinical translation of chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) imaging – an magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique which shows better correlation than the current clinical practice in identifying tissue at risk after an ischemic stroke and in grading tumour, differentiating tumour regrowth and radiation necrosis, and measuring extracellular pH of tumour microenvironment.

I am also interested in extracting sound information from negligible object vibrations in imagery. This is because the majority of the installed CCTVs usually just record the imagery but not sound, especially the outdoor cameras; these cameras are normally fixed at a distance either high-up or far away from the recording scene, resulting in mainly random noise such as wind or inaudible sound being recorded if there is a built-in microphone.

In addition to the two projects above, I am also working on and interested in other research areas. For more details, please refer to the Research page.
