At the Earth Conference in Nov. 2025, participants arranged themselves into three concentric circles to indicate the level of support they'd offer to develop the Coalition of Care. The people in the center became the Core Team - your hosts for the Co-designing a Coalition of Care Gathering!
No cost to attend. Includes lunch.
By registering, you're helping the hosts prepare the processes we'll use to facilitate engagement during our day together and ensure we can nourish you with lunch!
This gathering is for any individual, organization, or sector involved with facilitating caring actions for people and ecosystems in Greater Mankato.
Growing out of deep relationships and wisdom cultivated by the School Sisters of Notre Dame and Living Earth Center during 20 years of Earth Conferences, Co-designing a Coalition of Care: A Gathering for Collaborative Action in Greater Mankato invites new voices and people who attended past Earth Conferences to collectively imagine next steps for designing a caring-actions network that will improve the wellbeing of all people and ecosystems where we live!
Unlike a traditional conference where experts talk and attendees listen, the gathering will be interactive. Participants will move around the space to better connect with each other and facilitate the flow of ideas and questions.
We'll introduce the Coalition of Care Charter, collecting feedback for improving and implementing it. Our facilitator, Dr. Katie Boone, will then guide us through Open Space Technology and Pro Action Cafe’ sessions where participants will identify and explore questions about topics or ideas related to caring actions that emerge from the collective. You'll be empowered to join, leave, or easedrop on conversations in order to find ones that resonate! These proven group processes are structured to spark purposeful dialogue and creative collaboration among participants.
This event is hosted by the Greater Mankato Coalition of Care with funding from the MSU Environmental Committee.
