Welcome!
The Clinical Nutrition Research Lab studies the relationships between nutrition and chronic diseases in diverse population. We investigate nutrition in various dimensions such as dietary patterns (food and beverages), nutritional status (bio- and clinical markers), and dietary behaviors. Using "big data" sets, we explore biomarkers and predictors for nutritional status in large populations with emphasis on the subpopulation groups at risk. We widely investigate national and international nutrition surveys such as Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES), National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), and Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES) and their applications in clinical nutrition research. We investigate a large spectrum of nutrition-related health outcomes, such as chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia), inflammation, cognitive health, and depression.
