Appendance Privacy Policy

This privacy policy pertains to the mobile device application Appendance. Your usage of the app signals agreement to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described below.

Data Privacy and Storage

Your Appendance data is stored in multiple locations. Each participant (i.e. instructor) in your organization retains a full copy of the data on device. Note that each instructor must be authorized by one of your organization's owners before receiving access. Although each device possesses a full copy, only portions of that data may be viewable in the app depending on the access level (instructor, admin, owner) of the participant. Upon removal from an organization, all data will be wiped the next time the removed instructor accesses their app.

In addition, we maintain a copy of your data in Google Cloud. This is necessary to facilitate the data sharing between multiple individuals. All data is securely sent back and forth between devices and cloud using HTTPS. Google Cloud data is encrypted by default, currently the only individual with the ability to decrypt the data is Appendance's sole developer Kevin Engel.

Personal Information

No personal identifying information (PII) is required to use Appendance. The app does collect data which can potentially be PII, such as organization, instructor, class, and student names, but these are all arbitrary identifiers and can be aliases if desired. The app can also be used to collect records of payments made to you or your organization.

Data Retention and Right to Be Forgotten

We will retain your data for one month after your subscription (or 30 day trial) has lapsed. At that point, your data will be irreversibly removed from the cloud, and, upon subsequent app access, from each device in your organization. If you preferal a faster removal, please send a request to appendanceapp@gmail.com.

Children

Appendance is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian discovers that their child has provided us with information without their consent, they should contact us at appendanceapp@gmail.com. We will revoke the access, and delete all information gathered.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your personal information, and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Privacy Policy Modifications

Although we do not anticipate changes, we reserve the right to modify or replace this privacy policy at any time.
