Not jackpot lucky, just right place, right time lucky.

I landed a remote job before remote work was trendy, before COVID shoved everyone into Zoom rooms, and long before “digital nomad” became something people put in their Tinder bios.

Back then kasi, remote work wasn’t aspirational. It was weird.

People thought you were either unemployed or in a shady MLM. No one took it seriously.

You’d say “I work from home” and they’d respond with, “So you’re… on vacation?” Yeah. No.

Now? Everyone wants to try freelancing or land a remote gig.

And I get messages all the time: “Saan po pwede mag-apply?”, “Paano po magsimula?”.
