Chemical reaction is a crucial component of our everyday lives. The most powerful and efficient chemical reactions commonly use catalysis to control reactivity and selectivity. Thus, the discovery of new catalysts and catalytic systems with broad utility beyond established reactivity will give a great impact on academic and industrial organic synthesis.

Our research is focusing on discovery of new catalytic reactions and their synthetic applications in medicine and pharmaceutical industry. We design small organic molecules as catalysts/coupling reagents and develop new catalytic systems leading to discover new organic transformations. Specifically, we are interested in developing enantioselective catalysis using the newly designed catalysts and catalytic systems to synthesize chirally pure compounds which are important in the field of drug design and development.
