Although support for the operating system will stop in 2025, you can upgrade to Windows 10. Alternately, if you were going to buy a new computer or laptop anyhow, this would be the best time to do so.
Only devices that meet certain specifications will be able to run Windows 11. You can verify these specifications on the Microsoft support page to see if your device is compatible with the operating system. To determine whether your machine is compatible with Windows 11, visit Microsoft's website.
The steps to update to Windows 11 should be undertaken if your system is compatible:
Go to settings from the start menu.
Locate and select the Update & Security option.
Wait for the screen to display the Windows 11 upgrade choice after selecting check for updates.
Wait for Windows to start working its magic after selecting "Download and instal."
Before choosing to upgrade your PC to Windows 11, keep the following in mind:
Using One Drive, make a backup of your files to keep them secure and keep working normally.
Make sure your computer or laptop satisfies the minimum hardware specifications.
Do not forget to use a bootable CD/DVD or USB to build a Windows recovery disc on your computer.
Just to be safe, make a backup of your data on an external storage device.
To successfully activate Windows 11, keep your Windows product key, Microsoft account ID, and password close to hand.
Focus your efforts! Users of Windows 11 will benefit from new Focus Sessions and Do Not Disturb modes thanks to the latest upgrade.
You should be aware that the majority of work, including taskbar badges, notifications, and other background-running processes, will be hushed once the mode is enabled.
