About ICNP 2022
The International Conference on Natural Products (ICNP) is an annual event of the Malaysian Natural Products Society (MNPS). Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) have been given the honour of hosting the conference, which will be held on 21-23 September 2022 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The conference will cover all aspects of natural products research highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of the field. Abstracts are welcomed on the topics that have been mentioned in "Research Topics"
Welcome to Sabah!
Sabah, also known as The Land Below The Wind (“Sabah Negeri Dibawah Bayu”) is one of the states of Malaysia located in the region of East Malaysia on the northern side of Borneo. Sabah is the home to many hidden gems and wonders of the world especially its beautiful rainforest rich with fauna and flora and one of the oldest rainforests in the world. There are nearly 400 islands in Sabah with blessed phenomenal beaches, crystal clear blue sea, and abundant coral reefs which make them an ideal paradise on Earth.
Research Topics
The focus of this year’s ICNP conference is on all aspects of natural products research highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of the field. Abstracts are welcomed on the following topics:
Ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology
Phytochemistry, biological activities, mode of action and pharmacology
Toxicological studies
Advances in enabling technologies for plant/herbal analysis, global metabolite profiling, isolation, and chemical structure characterization
Modern natural product discovery research - metabolomics and gut microbiota studies
Informatics and data science approaches in natural products research
Cultivation and agricultural aspects of medicinal plants and herbs
Processing, standardization and product development aspects
‘Hits-to-lead’ drug discovery research, structure-function and computational studies
Modifications and biotransformation of natural products
Safety and regulatory aspects of herbal drugs and products
Potential of natural products for sustenance of health and food security
