Chères familles,

I am so excited to get to know you and your children over the coming weeks.  I am going to do all that I can to nurture a sense of security and excitement about learning.  To help me get to know you and your children, please take a moment to fill out this Google form with your child.  If you'd like to know a little more about me, I have posted my own answers to the questions at the bottom of this page.

This website will be my primary medium for communicating with you about what is happening in the learning environment.  The Apprentissage (Learning) page will be updated minimum every two weeks—most recent posts at the top of the page.  In between more detailed postings, I often upload photos of the day.  Looking at and discussing these with your child will help consolidate learning.

If you do not have consistent internet access, please reach out to me so that we can establish another way to communicate.

I kindly request that families use email to relay short messages (e.g., regarding absences, setting up a meeting).  For longer topics, I would be more than happy to arrange a phone call or an in-person meeting.

Cordialement,

Mme González

What is my name?

Madame Cristina González

Do I have a nickname I would like you to use?

You can call me Mme González or Mme G (pronounced Madame jhay).

Who lives with me?

I live with my orchid friends.  Their names are Anaïs, Verónica, Fauve, Fayette, Lilou, Juana, Delphine, Belle, Coquette, Sophie, Blanche, Athéna, Kiki and Keiki.  I put some pictures of them above this post.  From left to right (or top to bottom): Verónica, Belle, Anaïs and Fauve with Fayette and Juana in the background.

When I'm not at school, what do I like to do?

I love to dance, read, do yoga and go on long bike rides along the Humber River or to Tommy Thompson Park.  I also love spending time with family.  I bought a trailer for my bike that I’m excited to use with my granddaughter Lola.

What is something I am really curious about?

I’m curious to know whether nocturnal creatures have adapted to so much nighttime light in the city and what changes humans can make to help them a little more.

What am I most proud of?

I’m proud of having an open mind and not being afraid to try new things.

Do I have a personal learning goal that I am working towards?

I am learning to play the ukulele.  I’d like to learn nine songs.  (Nine is my favourite number.) So far, I only know how to play one song: Pin Pón.

What is something I want you to know about me?

I love learning outside so be ready to go out whenever we can.

My favourite part of school is being with young people who ask amazing questions and help me learn new things every day.

My least favourite part of school is how short recess is.
