Thank you for viewing our new year 9 options portal.  This is designed to give you an overview of the options process, and specific details about options choices.  Here I'll  give you details about  GCSE education at St Mark's Catholic School. This includes the rationale for the number and type of subjects we offer.  The practical process is also explained as are important factors to consider. Ms Davies, the Pupil Progress Leader for year 9,  reviews the pastoral support that all students will receive going into year 10 and year 11. Our aim at St Mark's is to give every student the best possible opportunity to succeed.  

Options subjects, together with the core subjects, give all students a broad and balanced curriculum. This will enable them to progress to A levels or to take courses at other educational establishments. It is with much regret, that we cannot host our traditional options evening at the school. However,  the hope is that this portal will give you enough information so that every student in year 9 is as informed as possible.
