(Bullitt, Ezra, Alcatraz, Grimly)
On December 4th, 2007, we got an email from a man in trouble. Due to life changes, he had been forced to move in with his brother--and the landlady would not permit the ferrets to come along.
too did not want ferrets at their house.

together. He has the comfort of knowing they`ll be loved and he can return to visit them. He and his girlfriend are willing to make the trip once or
twice a month to volunteer.
months ago and is beginning to re-grow his fur. The former dad rescued Grimly and his (approximately 3 1/2 yr. old ) cagemate Alcatraz from a pet store awhile back.
More later. Alcatraz Grimly UPDATE: June 23rd, 2008 About four months after the group came in, Grimly began to go adrenal again. Rather than put him through another surgery, we opted for lupron. He is doing beautifully on the drug. It`s non-invasive, he feels great, & his coat is incredible. All the others are doing wonderfully too. Rick & Jen made the drive last night, to see their furkids again. We are so happy they have remained in these babies` lives. It`s obvious how much they love them. At this point, we have really become friends. I care very much for these good people, & I look forward to our next visit. I wish they lived closer. More later! Love, Zoo UPDATE: September 19th, 2008 We lost Alcatraz unexpectedly tonight. He suffered a complete urinary blockage. There was a walnut-sized mass in his abdomen, and he could not be fixed. We had to let him go. I want to thank Rick for staying in his kids` lives. Rick, I emailed my sympathy to you--and YOU comforted ME. (He really was special, wasn`t he...) The rest of the group is doing well--partly because they have integrated into the Star Wars group, & have many others to focus on, right now. Ezra has dropped some weight though. We`ll have to watch her. More later. Love, Zoo SEPTEMBER 15, 2011 It has been quite awhile since I have updated this website. Many more ferrets have come through our doors, and we have been so very busy... During this time, our sweet Grimly lost his battle with cancer, and now only Bullitt & Ezra remain. Ezra`s one black leg has lightened a bit each year, and now is tan! She is adrenal, & on lupron. One would never know she is sick. She has a beautiful coat, & still enjoys nipping toes :) Bullitt is still with us, and as sweet & cute as ever. We have some new volunteers. Maybe I can get some of them to help me get new pictures. More later! Love, Zoo |
