On September 4, 2008, Ben & Jerry were brought to us by a woman who said she was allergic to them. It is rare to be brutally allergic to a ferret, but this woman wasn`t kidding! She tearfully told us how much she loved Ben & Jerry, and how she was hoping it would just go away--but it had gotten worse... She pulled up the sleeves of her sweatshirt, and the legs of her sweatpants, exposing the hives & scabs that covered her body.We were in shock. We had never seen such a mess, and we knew immediately, that she really, really had to give up her ferrets. Ben & Jerry were less than a year old. It broke her heart to leave them behind, but she was comforted, knowing they would be staying here with us. (We promised!) Ben & Jerry get along well with all of the other ferrets, but they run with the Star Wars group.This picture was taken in Dec. 2009. More later! Love, Zoo  |
