We got a call one Saturday while Gregg was here, scrubbing the floor. A woman had asked the vet where she could find a good home for her granddaughter`s ferret. It had a big ball on the end of its tail--and the family dog had chomped on the ball--and stuff was coming out of it... The vet had given her our phone number, and she wanted to meet us in the Walmart parking lot, and hand us the ferret. Gregg drove, and we went on the rescue. Ashley had an ulcerated chordoma, and was also adrenal. We told the woman that Ashley would need surgery on the tail, and that it would cost over $100. We asked if she would contribute at least $25 to help. She said no :( So we footed the $130 bill for the tail surgery---and paid for the lupron depot she needed. Today, January 18, 2010, this big albino girl has one of the finest white coats in the room. The lupron is doing its job well, for now! The lab reported the chordoma as benign. UPDATE:New picture! Here`s Ashley, with her beautiful new lupron coat, and minus the ball on her tail. Ashley, February 9, 2010 |
