What is this world all about?  Wow, what a questions.  Who made the world?  Why are we here? 
Today at Mars HIll Bible Church we started talking about John 1 vs. 1  "In the beginning was the Word".

1) This world can be full of trouble?

2) God designed, animated this world.

Steve, have 10 volunteers that work the project.  Look for a  90 day need we can help people with and then hook them up with resources that they can help themselves.

What should Church mean to you?

Exodus 25 v. 8
"Then have them make a sanctuary for me..."  The rest of the book of Exodus talks about how this temple should be built.  Sacred Furnishing, Sacred Garments, Sacred Emblems, Sacred Offering,

Sacred+ qodhesh    (holy / set apart / consecrated.)

"So you can distinguish from the clean and unclean."  Distinguish between the two.

Realm of the common and realm of the sacred....different.  Normal physical space and sacred space.

This world view is common.  People understood the world this way.  Sacred and unsacred.  Two Realms  "Spacial Orientation"

"Hey kids don't run in church..."
"They're in full-time ministry but I have a normal job..."
"I would never say that in Church..."


Matthew 12   Jesus teachings.
"One greater than the temple is here..." 

John 2
"destroy the temple in 3 days and I will raise it in three day....."  
Speaking of himself... Jesus links himself with the temple.

Matthew 27 v
Curtain in temple.  Between the Holy of Holies and the rest of temple.
"at that moment the curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom...."
Yes, people can go in....but God can also go out...... a whole new understanding of the world is now here.

Implications are endless:

Matthew 25

"whatever you do to one of the least of my brothers you did to me..."
Some people show me what people are like....
My followers are ones that increasingly able to see Christ in everybody.

Hungry, Thirsty, Annoying, Abrasive, etc.

Example: Political Talk Radio
Two sides....people yelling at each other.... broad general talk about the other side.  Can't have this.

The gathering here on earth should be a place where you are more and more .... harder and harder to see people outside of Christ views.  "You are becoming more and more aware of the sacred in the common."
If the gathering/Church affirms a split world view... it is not correct. 

Church should make us more sensitive.....  Jesus centric.
It heightens your awareness that Christ is present and he is here, now on earth.

Genesis 28 v 16
"the Lord is in this place....and I was not aware." 
Faith:  Apparently God is in the place and I wasn't aware of it, but know we see it. 

Don't split the two parts of life.     God is in the place...
Where you go out of this world to meet God.  Retreat into another realm.
Learn more how to find God everywhere else.  Learning and waking up to where God is.  Goal is that all empowerd to wake up and see the Lord.
Begin to be aware that if you are a Christian....then you don't have a regular job because you are their.  In a normal place. Slugging it out in the "Cube-farm."
Reality of Christ in the common!!!!
Awaken the system that God is in the place.  Jesus centric.  Thinking.
w then does this make us view events that take place?

Mark 14:
"She has done a beautify thing to me."  Prepared him for his death, in the common domain.  Sacred and holy act. 

An event that is Jesus centered is for the purpose of seeing that Christ is present in this place.

God we ask you to wake us up to the music in our midst.  Show us the Christ in the common.  Better recognize in the places that we go...that you are here.

Rescue us from the split view of World.

All places are pulsating your presence.  The divine in the daily.
