- Introduced experimental approach to activated sludge control
- Introduced filamentous bacteria daily analyses and created a collection of filamentous bacteria permanent preparations
- Introduced biological databases and automatically generated reports, accessible to system operators by computer network
- Introduced respirometric methods in activated sludge quality analysis
