I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University. I graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business with a PhD in Finance.

I am an applied financial economics theorist who augments theoretical findings with empirical analysis. Both my theoretical research questions and subsequent findings are of practical relevance and are often driven by empirical evidence and ongoing, exigent debates. These theoretical findings serve two key purposes: either to explain empirical evidence that contradicts conventional wisdom or to provide guidance for practitioners and regulators. Because I examine the implications of theories from an empirical perspective, many of my research projects have both theoretical and empirical components.

My research interests cover mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy, labor markets, Artificial Intelligence, and ESG investment. My research has been published in the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Economic Theory.
