[-] Update rooted Nexus S to Android 2.3.4 build GRJ22

Ecco la procedura per aggiornare il Nexus S (GT-I9020) rooted ad Android 2.3.4 build GRJ22 e ottenere i privilegi di root.

!!! Questa procedura cancella tutti dati dal telefono ed annulla la garanzia. Personalmente 
non mi assumo alcuna resposabilità a riguardo. Se deciderete di provare a seguire questa procedura imitando quello che ho fatto io, lo farete a vostro rischio e pericolo ed io non ne sarò responsabile sotto nessuna forma 
!!!

Ci servirà meno di un'ora, una connessione ad internet WiFi ed i seguenti file da scaricare:
Accertatevi che il vostro Nexus S sia raggiungibile via ADB e soprattutto via FASTBOOT, altrimenti controllate questo link per sistemarlo.

Iniziamo!!!

1) Fate un backup generale del Nexus S ad esempio usando Titanium Backup ROOT. Assicuratevi di salvare tutti i dati per il device verrà completamente ripristinato. Fate un backup della SD (probabilmente non verrà cancella, ma vogliamo essere sicuri ;-) ).

2) Copiate: Nexus S stock 2.3.3 by Google, OTA 2.3.4 build GRJ22 e SuperUser 2.3.6.1 nella root della memoria interna del telefono.

3) Andate in Recovery (spegnete e riaccendete con Volume Up + Power)

4) Flashate direttamente dallo zip la Stock f182cf141e6a.signed-soju-ota-102588.f182cf14.zip Questo cancellerà tutti i dati del sistema!!!

5) Riavviate il Nexus S in modalità Fastboot (spegnete e riaccendete con Volume Up + Power), con i tasti volume selezionate Recovery. Aggiornate da zip usando il file: a14a2dd09749.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI40.a14a2dd0.zip

Adesso siete in Stock 2.3.4 build GRJ22, ma non rooted!!!

6) Installate la Recovery Clockwork:
    a) Connettete il Nexus S al pc andate in Fastboot mode e da consolle 
        lanciate: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-herring.img

Nota: il comando fastboot è nella cartella tools dell'SDK, se vi mancano delle dll sono nella cartella platform-tools.

7) Adesso riavviate ed andate in Recovery Clockwork, da qui installate lo zip su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip scegliendo install zip from sdcard

8) Installate Titanium Backup ROOT se avete qualche problema riguardo ai permessi, dipende da BusyBox. Nella pagina principale di Titanium Backup ROOT scegliete Problems? scaricate BusyBox e aggiornate anche SuperUser.

9) Ripristinate dati e applicazioni con Titanium Backup ROOT. Potrà volerci un pò.

10) Riavviate

Finito! Adesso il vostro Nexus S è rooted con Android 2.3.4 build GRJ22!!!

Here are the steps to update the Nexus S (GT-I9020) rooted to Android 2.3.4 build GRJ22 and rooted it.


!!! This procedure will wipe your device and will avoid your warranty. I decline every responsibility about this. If you decide to follow this procedure, you are by yourself and I will not accountable for anything !!!


We will need less than one hour, a stable internet connection (WiFi) and the following downloads:
Be sure that your Nexus S is paired with ADB and most important FASTBOOT, otherwise check this link to fix it.

Let's go!!!

1) Backup your Nexus S by using Titanium Backup ROOT. Be sure you saved all the data cause your device will be wiped. Backup also the SD (probably it will not be wiped, but we wanna be sure ;-) ).


2) Copy: Nexus S stock 2.3.3 by Google, OTA 2.3.4 build GRJ22 e SuperUser 2.3.6.1 in the root of the Nexus S memory.

3) Go in Recovery (turn off and than Volume Up + Power)

4) Flash the zip file with the Stock: f182cf141e6a.signed-soju-ota-102588.f182cf14.zip This will wipe your device!!!

5) Reboot you Nexus S in Fastboot mode (turn off and than Volume Up + Power), with volume key choose Recovery. Update from zip by using the file: a14a2dd09749.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI40.a14a2dd0.zip

Now your Nexus S is Stock 2.3.4 build GRJ22, but not rooted!!!

6) Install the Recovery Clockwork:
    a) Connect your Nexus S via USB to your PC, go in Fastboot mode and run in a 
        consolle: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-herring.img

Note: the fastboot exe is in the tools folder in the SDK, if you have some trouble with the dlls you can find them in the folder platform-tools.

7) Now, reboot and go in the Clockwork Recovery, install the zip su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip by choosing install zip from sdcard

8) Install Titanium Backup ROOT if you have some issue about root permission it depends by BusyBox. In the main page of Titanium Backup ROOT choose Problems? download BusyBox and update also SuperUser.

9) Restore your data and apps with Titanium Backup ROOT. It will take some time.

10) Reboot

Done! Now your Nexus S is rooted with Android 2.3.4 build GRJ22!!!
