Every church is driven by something. Tradition, finances, programs, personalities, events, seekers, and even buildings can each be the controlling force in a church. But for a church to be healthy it must be a purpose-driven church, built around the five New Testament purposes given by Jesus. The five purposes of worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry are found in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

By balancing these five purposes, Zion Christian Community Church is able to grow warmer through fellowship, deeper through discipleship, stronger through worship, broader through ministry, and larger through evangelism; all at the same time. Zion Christian Community Church has grown from just one family in the late 1940s to more than 80 churches all throughout the Philippine archipelago.

"Building on the Word" has been the clarion call for its ministry. Since then it has been involved in preaching the Gospel and planting churches in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Leyte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, General Santos City, Saranggani Province, and Davao City.
