Family and Consumer Sciences  is a combination of consumer science, cooking and nutrition, human development, parenting skills, sewing and design.   "FCS" has a long-standing history with George West schools, beginning with Home Economics when the current Junior High  homemaking cottage was built in 1940. Students learn to incorporate life-long skills into their lives - from understanding themselves to discovering ways to care for their families.  Cooking and sewing skills - two long-standing FCS favorites - will be refined and developed into  entries in the Live Oak County Fair.  More information on the County Fair can be found seasonally through the George West Chamber of Commerce Callendar of Events.  More information will be coming soon on this site as well.
