I am currently in the PhD program (condensed matter physics) in Institute for Advanced Study, Tsinghua University (IAS, Tsinghua; the affiliation' original name is Center for Advanced Study before April 10, 2009). My supervisor is Prof. Zheng-Yu Weng (C N Yang professorship, theoretical physicist, Cheung Kong Scholars Oversea).
My research mainly focuses on High-temperature superconductivity and quantum field theory (Schwartz-type topological field theory). Recently, I am also interested in AdS/CFT correspondence in string theory and condensed matter theory, etc. My current to-be-published work is a compact gauge field theory of cuprate superconductors. The theory provides with two completely new quantities to characterize the complicated global phase diagram . They are so simplified but quite robust in representing the information of fundamental physics which hides in great amounts of highly unconventional experimental dectation. Generally, we ask "Why the Tc is so HIGHT??" However, in the theories of strongly-correlated electron system, we should, in contrary, ask, "Why the Tc is so LOW?!" The mysterious issue, i.e. competition between antiferromagnetism and superconductivity is shedded light in, according to a deep understanding in the separation and entanglement between spin degree of freedom and charge degree of freedom.
