 Every 1 Reads Volunteer Tutor

One of the most effective ways to help these students is to become an Every 1 Reads Volunteer Tutor. You don’t need a fancy degree to volunteer – just a willingness to help and a passion for literacy. As an Every 1 Reads Volunteer, you will work one-on-one with a struggling reader for 30 minutes a week. Each session will be different, but your goal will always be to improve the child's confidence and attitude towards reading by helping him/her to find success.

If you would like a presentation on the Every 1 Reads initiative for your business or organization, staff is available to share a 20-minute PowerPoint with your group and answer questions. Or, we can send materials for you to distribute at one of your meetings. Contact: Linda Neal, 625-0089 or lneal@greaterlouisville.com to schedule a time or receive additional information.

Every 1 Reads is a literacy initiative of Jefferson County Public Schools in partnership with Greater Louisville Inc., and Louisville Metro Government. With your support, every student will read at grade level by 2008.

If ten or more of your coworkers, employees, or group members are interested in volunteering, we can plan an on-site Volunteer Training Session. Call (502) 625-0004 or visit www.Every1Reads.org for more information.
