1 cup powdered boric acid
1/2 cup flour
1/8 cup sugar
1/4 cup cooking oil or bacon drippings
(or more to form a soft dough)
A dab of water to make the dough a consistency that is easy to roll.

Mix the above ingredients in a bowl to form a dough ball that can be rolled out on a board with a rolling pin. Roll to 1 quarter inch thick and cut into small pills. I use the cap of a fountain pen. Works really great. It will take about 3 days, by then you will see more dead roaches than you would like to see. Let the pills dry and then store in a glass jar and refrigerate for use as needed for roaches. Really works well and will not harm pets or people. It takes 3 or 4 days and you will begin to see roaches running around acting silly, that's because they are dieing. Just be a little patient, if you have done a good job of making and placing your pills and getting the boric acid brushed into your carpets, you will certainly be free of the little critters.

If you are heavily infested with roaches and/or fleas and since you have the boric acid powder, put some of the boric acid powder into a shaker and use it to shake some of the powder into your carpet. Do this only after your carpet has been well vacuumed. Leave it in your carpet for at least a week before you vacuum again. By then your fleas and roaches will be by-by.

In order to maintain your environment insect free use 20 Mule Team Borax in your cleaning and rinsing water. This will leave a slight film of the Borax powder and this is lethal to insects.  They will walk across the boric acid and when they get it on thier feet it will kill them.  It has been 4 years since I have been keeping my home cleaned with Borax and I just don't have any kind of insect problem.  Again it will not harm your pets or children. Unless your pets are insects. Then use caution. Another benefit of cleaning in this manner is the results, your home will smell fresh. The odor causing little critters will be gone with their smell. It takes a little time but you will notice within about 3 days you will be finding dead insects.  I don't use anybody to come around and spray poisons, I just don't need them.
