Young Genius Educational Center offers Speech & Debate programs for students of all ages and experience.
The clear intent of our Speech & Debate program is to prepare students to compete at High and Middle School tournaments. We expect our students to behave, dress, and compete like the young adults they are. Their experiences in Speech & Debate will last a lifetime.
The director of the Young Genius Speech & Debate program Don Heinsohn has worked with numerous State and National Finalists and Champions in a variety of Speech/Debate events.
Mr. Heinsohn holds the title of a Triple Diamond Coaching Award from the National Forensics League and has been a member of the National Forensic League for 40 years.
In May of 2011 our students had a combined record of 9 wins and 3 losses at their first debate tournament. In November of 2011 almost all our speech students had "Superior" ratings in their primary speech event.
At The Stanford Invitational tournament February 11-12, 2012 four of six competing students became finalists in Congressional Debate.
Young Genius Educational Center offers one on one tutoring in K-12 Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, SAT, ACT, HSPT, CBEST , AP History and English for Elementary, Middle High, and High School students.
We also prepare students for AMC (American Math Competition) and other math contests.
Our teachers and owner have strong educational backgrounds. Unlike corporate tutoring centers, we develop an instructional plan tailored to each individual student based on their specific needs.
