The Lotus flower is beautiful in both appearance and smell. Lotus is symbol of purity. Starting life as a seed, it grows in the muddy darkness at the bottom of a pond. The darkness is like our ignorance - we can't clearly see the truth about life. The seed grows toward the warmth and light of the sun just as humans naturally grow toward the warmth of love and compassion, and toward the light of truth. The mature flower floats on the surface, bathing in the full light of the sun, well 'anchored' but moving freely according to the flow of the water - the changing current of any situation.  (Author unknown)

The Lotus Flower is said to be a very holy and precious flower for it flowers, bears fruit & provides seed all at the same time.  It is said to be the the only fruit in the world to do that and, therefore, it is that phenomenon that makes this flower so revered by all the Buddhist & Eastern cultures.

Miss Kiki is definitely as the Tibetan's would say, the most

"Dakini with Chnrezi who Shi Nay".

(Translation:  Dakini is a female enlightened being, Chenrezi is now with loving eyes and Shi Nay is a soul that shines).

History of the Shih Tzu

Shih Tzu is a cross between the Lhasa Apso, a Tibetan breed, and the Pekingese, a Chinese breed.  As the name may suggest, Lhasa Apsos lived in the temples of Lhasa where they were used in various religious rites. These dogs were the private property of the Dalai Lama. In 1643, three of these dogs made the journey from Lhasa to Beijing as a gift to the Chinese emperor during the Manchu dynasty.  It’s from this trio that the Shih Tzu we know descends.

At the imperial court, the Chinese gave the breed the name Shih Tzu Kou, or Tibetan Lion Dog, due to its lion-golden color – the lion was the symbolic charger of the Buddha. The kou or ‘dog’ was later dropped as the breed simply became the Shih Tzu, Tibetan Lion.  The dowager empress Tsu Hsi then received a number of tousled Lhasa Apsos from the Dalai Lama.
