Yi Han Biography I am currently an assistant professor in Computer Science, National University of Defense Technology, Changsha, China. I received a B. Eng. degree, a M. Eng. degree and a Ph.D. Degree from National University of Defense Technology, in 2004, 2006 and 2011. Particularly, I visited Simon Fraser University during 2008, under the supervision of Dr. Jian Pei. My visit was supported by China Scholarship Council (CSC). My research has been supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National High-tech R&D Program of China(863 Program), and National Basic Research Program of China(973 Program). Currently, my priority in research is on developing effective algorithms on data-intensive computing, including mining micro-blogging data and online social networks.
Ongoing Projects
Currently, I am working on mining large-scale networks for above projects. Mining is concerned with analyzing the data to automatically discover interesting patterns which in turn lead to better understanding of the underlying processes. Web content analysis, social community extraction, and trend analysis technology are key elements of above projects. My work is to design architectures and algorithms towards above topics, and conduct necessary experiments to evaluation the effectiveness and the efficiency of my solutions. The major objective of my work is to produce high quality research papers publishable in academic conferences and journals.
