WHO DECIDED WE SHOULD DO THIS?

At the January 2010 leadership meeting, CYFN was given approval by leadership to begin the process of dialogue and discussion on a proposed tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Action Plan for building a ‘Partnership on Education’ in the Yukon.  The proposed partnership will be between Canada as represented by Indian and Northern Affairs, Yukon as represented by the Minister of the Education, and Yukon First Nations, with the Council of Yukon First Nations facilitating the process.  The goal is to create a greater success rate for Yukon First Nation students in Education and to develop and address Yukon First Nations priorities in education.
