Class Notes

I'll publish class notes as Google Docs files, readable by anyone. Click the "PDF version" link if you're having trouble printing the document from Internet Explorer in the labs.

  • crashme.exe: A program with one, and only one, purpose -- crash immediately. Strangely, it's not as useful as you might expect. Normally, it is very dangerous to download a file that ends in .exe to your computer, but this one is safe. I think.

The How Stuff Works site has good explanations of computer technology. The ads are a bit annoying though -- a good excuse to get an ad-blocker extension for your browser.
