The Istanbul Chamber Choir have been continuously giving concerts since its foundation in 1982, under conductor/ founder Yeshua AROYO’s leadership. The choir is a private chamber music ensemble with a deep enthusiasm of profound interpretation of a selected international repertory from Middle Age, Renaissance, Classical, Romantic, and Modern eras including Negro-Spirituals and Pop colors.
Having appeared in Spanish TV in 1987, during 1989-92, the group has given numerous concerts accompanied by an orchestra of 30 musicians at Istanbul’s well - known concert halls such as Atatürk Cultural Centre, Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall, Haghia Irini, Hagia Sophia, Harbiye Military Museum and Cultural Center, Istanbul University State Conservatory, Bosphorus University, Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul Technical University, Austrian, French, British, and Italian Cultural Centres, German, South African, and Belgian General Consulates.
During 1991-93, Istanbul Chamber Choir appeared on stage under the name of EURODIALOGUE CHORUS in Eurodialogue Assemblies at Yerebatan Cistern and represented Turkey with a great success.
In 1993 the ensemble recorded with the famous Turkish pop singer Sezen AKSU for a single piece in her album and accompanied her live, in a series of concerts in Istanbul. Apart from many domestic appearances in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, and Mersin, the Choir also traveled in Europe and performed within different choral festivals in Karditsa, Greece (1994), Piteşti, Romania (1997), Preveza, Greece (1998), and Torrevieja, Spain (1999).
