University of North Carolina Campus, Chapel Hill SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) Wednesday | May 16th 6:30-8pm (brief presentation to last 20-30 minutes + tour + q&a) Directions here *Hard Hats Required*  “Leveraging a Disparate Design Programs” By uniting a variety of programmatic requirements and goals into a unified whole, SOM’s design was able to transform UNC’s central, but under-utilized Bell Tower campus into an exciting, activity-rich central agora. Free parking is available after 5:00pm in the Bell Tower Parking Deck (please allow extra time to get to, and navigate through the construction on the UNC campus) AIA Learning Objectives: Meeting wider needs: How the building functions within the larger Campus Meeting specific needs: What goes on in the building Addressing environmental concerns: tour of the “green roof” system Discussion of coordination with the building contractor to successfully finish the project.
