About YAF Triangle The Young Architects Forum is a leadership development program of the AIA College of Fellows. It focuses on professional development, leadership, personal growth and other important subjects relevant to young professionals and interns early in their careers. The Triangle Young Architects Forum was established in 2000 to provide an opportunity for young professionals and interns to become active participants in the profession. It provides various outlets and activities, both professional and social, where young architects (those licensed less than 10 years) can get together and discuss topics of interest to each other and provides a network within the architectural community to tackle issues that concern them. All activities are open to all Triangle AIA members with the hope that all involved will benefit from the interaction between individuals who are just starting out in their careers and people who have dealt with the same issues and can speak with some authority, experience and understanding. Some of the past and continuing activities include the Mentoring Program at NCSU's College of Design, the annual New Licensee Reception, building tours of projects designed by local firms, a traveling exhibit of the work of local young architects, and design competitions for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.
