Working JVLC example

Do you want a working jvlc example? Your dreams come true :)

Netbeans version:Download

Eclipse version: Download

FAQ:

  • Q: Does it work with newer version than 0.9.2?
  • A: Yes, but i didn't refresh the project. Just replace the native binaries in the lib folder.
  • Q: How can i use this example?
  • A: If you use Netbeans version extract the downloaded file and you get 2 directory. Open jvlc-example in Netbeans, hit F6, that's it.

If you use Eclipse version extract the downloaded file and you get one directory. Import it to Eclipse, open the project, open Example.java and press play. That's it.
  • Q: Do I need any third party package, jar or anything?
  • A: No, it's a "selfhost" proof-of-concept work.
  • Q: What Java version do you use?
  • A: Latest JDK 6.
  • Q: Why so big?
  • A: Because it contains an almost full VLC (0.9.2 for Windows) install (some files ripped).
  • Q: How it works?
  • A: See for yourself :)
  • Q: Do you have a working example for other OS?
  • A: Not yet, but a Linux version is planned.
  • Q: Ok, but streaming is not working!
  • A: False, streaming is working, with minor changes. If you need a working streaming example, let me a message (and please donate).
  • Q: What is jvlc?
  • A: Java binding for VLC
  • Q: This code and the solution is ugly.
  • A: Yeep, it's hackish, but remember: it's only a proof-of-concept.
  • Q: Your english is bad!
  • A: I'm know it, sorry.
  • Q: Can i have a question?
  • A: Yes, you can write to me through VideoLAN forum
