China) and a P.h.D degree in Applied Science (Materials Science) major at the College of William and Mary. His research at Tsinghua was on exfoliation of graphite intercalation compound (G.I.C). His Ph.D. thesis topic was on field emission study of carbon nanomaterials, particularly on carbon nanosheets, which are made up of one to seven graphene layers. His research experience was mainly on field emission science, surface science, vacuum science, scientific instrumentation, fabrication and characterization of novel materials. During his graduate research, Dr. Zhao foresaw the potential of graphene as electrode materials in electrochemical double layer capacitors (EDLCs) and other energy storage devices. He is the solo inventor of a technology utilizing carbon nanosheets as electrode materials for supercapacitors (or ultracapacitor). His interests include deployment of electric-bus and plug-in electric-vehicles powered by supercapacitor. 中文简介 (Chinese) 1997赵鑫毕业于中南工业大学（现名“中南大学”）金属材料与工程专业，并获学士学位；1997他毕业于清华大学材料与科学工程系材料科学与工程专业，获材料学硕士学位；他于2006年毕业于地处美国弗吉尼亚州的“威廉和玛丽大学”（The College of William and Mary, VA, Charted 1693）应用科学系（Applied Science Department），获博士学位。毕业后留校从事博士后工作。 2007至今，他工作于美国能源部属“杰弗逊国家加速器实验室”（Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, 射频超导加速器研究院，职位为博士后研究员（Post-doctoral Research Associate）。 研究方向：材料科学，表面科学，真空技术。长期从事碳基纳米材料研究，包括开发先进碳基纳米电子器件，储能器件的研发。已经有一项独立发明申请美国专利，在美国威廉和玛丽学院知识产权基金的合作下已经，该技术转让给高技术风险投资公司(Quercustrust 和 21Ventures) 成立的 Graphene Energy Inc.公司（www.grapheneenergy.net 美国德州）。近期主要从事射频超导薄膜材料的开发，包扩其新材料制备，表征和应用。 |
