Welcome to St. Francis Xavier's First Grade!

Welcome parents!  First off, I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Michelle Lee and I am your childrent's First Grade Catechist.  This is my first year serving as a catechist at St. Francis Xavier, and while I was a bit nervous at first, more than anything - I am super excited for the year!  If you were not aware, Luz has planned for me to follow the students next year to be their second grade teacher.  That way, we can provide some consistency and familiarity when helping the children prepare for the sacrament of First Communion.  Which I am VERY excited about!

As for my background, I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and lived in California and Georgia until I was in sixth grade.  Then, I moved to Seoul, Corea where I attended Seoul International School, a private college-prepatory institution.  After graduating highschool in Seoul, I moved to Evanston, IL (Chicago) and attended undergrad at Northwestern University.  After graduation, I immediately moved to NYC to join my older sister who was already living here.  I have always worked in advertising and am currently working at the Kaplan Thaler Group, as part of the Continental Airlines account team.

I had my baptism in St. Paul, Minnesota, my first communion in San Jose, California, my reconciliation in Marietta, Georgia, and my confirmation in Seoul.  So I am a well traveled Catholic!  I have a younger brother named David and an older sister named Grace.  My parents and extended family all still reside in Corea, which is where I go every Christmas.  It's hard being away from family for so long and only getting to go home once a year, but I thank the Lord I at least have my sister here in NY. I live in the East Village with my two dogs, Penny and Lea (a chihuaua / fox terrier mix and a mini. schnauzer).

I will continue to update the site and add tidbit here and there once I familiarize myself with the tools and features.
Feel free to post any comments or questions in the meantime.
All the subpages will feature each week's class summary & theme.

God Bless us all during this new journey of Faith!
