Nicola Goodall Around 15 years ago Nicola began her journey supporting families around birthing their babies. Since then it has taken her in many different directions. She is an antenatal teacher with the NCT, running groups in Edinburgh and London. A birth supporter or doula. Mother of four wonderful children. An assessor mentor for Doula UK and for the last year or so has facilitated on Mindful Doulas, one of their recognised doula training courses in Edinburgh. After completing the Scottish Birth Teachers Course and putting the knowledge gained from that into action for a while she decided to put together a series of her own workshops for folk travelling this path. She views these workshops as a sharing of wisdom amongst women in the tradition of past days. Daisy Dinwoodie Daisy began her career of passion around 5 years ago when first pregnant. Planning a breech birth led her into a whole community of supportive women, and through a complicated system of protocols. The supportive women nourished, comforted, guided and empowered her. This instinctively led her to all the right books, places and wise women. She
began the Scottish Birth Teachers’ Association training in September
06, when 7 months pregnant, where she met her women – those who would
spark the passion she now has for women and birth. One of them was Nicola Goodall. She
believed in Daisy from the outset, and saw her doing what she now does;
being a supporter of safe, gentle, transformational birth; being a
sister to others; being a mother among other mothers. Daisy
has also facilitated groups at the Pregnancy and Parents’ Centre, where
she is one of the volunteer directors, in homebirth support and
Womansong; singing for pregnant women. Daisy is thrilled to be involved with Wysewomen, and looks forward to our sharing. |
