It is England Netball's Policy, supported by child protection agencies, that if you have any young members (Under age 18) within your Club, then you are required to have an England Netball CRB ( Criminal Records Bureau) check. The CRB check is for the "adult" (s) responsible. This could be a coach, team captain, manager, club welfare officer, etc.
Pam Hoyle, Sian Foley and I have been trained by England Netball as CRB verifiers able to process these checks on their behalf.
Pam, Sian and I intend holding a "CRB" evening on Wednesday 19th May 6.40pm to 9.00pm at Whitcliffe Mount, to process CRB forms.
West Yorkshire County will pay for 1 CRB check per affiliated club - if further ones are needed then this will need to be paid by the individual/your club (current charge *£12.50).
If you have members who are U18 and you have not had a CRB check by Pam or I, and you have an appropriate adult able to come on 19th May, could you please complete and return the attached form [CRB WYCNA May10]. Once we have the forms returned we will confirm what time we would like you to come on the 19th and what information you need to bring with you. This is not a long process, so should not take a great deal of anyone's time i.e. 15 - 30 minutes should be more than sufficient. Further information re CRB can be found on the England Netball Website - under Safeguarding. I hope to hear from you soon and to receiving your response by Sunday 16th May to email address below. Thank You Jenny Skelton jskelton17@aol.com Chair West Yorks Netball *Please note For volunteers working in Netball the check costs £12.50. If you receive payment for the work that you do (outside of expenses for travel and subsistence) then the CRB charge an addition £36.00 which goes directly to the Home Office. So if you are not a volunteer it will cost you £48.50. |
