Goalden Globes 2012 - Nominations Needed NOW

It's that time again when England Netball need your help to say a massive thank you to our huge volunteer workforce. The Goalden Globe Awards 2012 nominations are now open!
Each region will choose a regional winner for each of the 8 competitive categories. The winners will be announced at the Regions Goalden Globe Awards 2012. For information on these please see the regions websites.
Regional winners will then be put forward for the National Award which will be announced at the National Goalden Globe Awards 2012 being held on Saturday 22nd September 2012.

With eight different categories, there really is something for everyone. So, now it's down to you.... who needs to be recognised in your area?

The Categories are...

· Coach Award
· Inclusive Netball Volunteer Award
· Mary Bulloch Administrator Award
· Muriel McNally Award
· Netball Teacher Award
· Officials Award
· Outstanding Netball Club Award
· Young Netball Volunteer Award

Nominations are also sought for the following awards which will be awarded nationally in September at the England Netball Goalden Globe Awards:
· England Netball National Long Service Award
· England Netball Rose Award

Individuals may self-nominate for the England Netball Long Service Award. All nominations must be seconded by a County Association. The England Netball National Long Service Award will be presented to volunteers who have given selfless outstanding service for 25 years or more by way of administration, coaching or umpiring at one or more of the following levels county, regional, national and international. These nominations will be conferred by the national panel.
The England Netball Rose Award will be presented to volunteers or organisations that have made an exceptional contribution to netball in any capacity within the last 12 months. This may encompass any aspect of the game and its administration. This will also be conferred by the national panel.
Don't delay, nominate today! Nomination forms can be submitted by post or email to your regional office. For closing dates please see your regional website. Remember, if an individual has been nominated in a previous year they are still eligible for this year’s award so nominate them again.

The Awards are:

The Netball Yorkshire Rose Award is presented to a volunteer or organisation that has made a notable contribution to netball in any capacity which may encompass any aspect of the game and its administration.   It is the quality of service which is important, not the length, and may include specific initiatives such as obtaining or providing significant sponsorship or publicity, organising a high profile event or supporting the introduction of a new league, all with the aim of increasing participation in netball.

This award is not restricted to affiliated members of England Netball.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Young Netball Volunteer Award is presented to a young person who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of netball through volunteering. 

To be eligible nominees must be no older than 25 years, must be affiliated to England Netball and have volunteered by way of coaching, umpiring or administration for a minimum period of two years, having had particular impact in the last 12 months.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Coach Award is presented to a coach who has made an outstanding contribution to their club/organisation and progression of netball athletes. 

To be eligible nominees must coach within the Excel Pathway (Satellite Academy upwards) or the Competition Pathway (Regional League upwards). They must have coached for at least three years, having had particular impact in the last 12 months. They must be affiliated to England Netball and hold an England Netball coaching qualification. This award is open to both volunteer and paid coaches, excluding those people whose main source of income is derived from coaching.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Long Service Award may be presented to volunteers who have given selfless outstanding service for 25 years or more by way of administration, coaching or umpiring at one or more of the following levels county, regional, national and international.

To be eligible, nominees must be affiliated to England Netball. Recommendations can be made by an individual, county, or region

 

The Netball Yorkshire Grassroots Coach Award is presented to a volunteer coach who has made an outstanding contribution to getting more people engaging, growing and staying in netball through high quality coaching. 

To be eligible nominees must have coached on a voluntary basis at a grassroots level for at least three years, having had particular impact in the last 12 months. They must be affiliated to England Netball and hold an England Netball Coaching Qualification.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Inclusive Netball Volunteer Award is presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of netball which is inclusive to minority groups e.g. disabled people, disadvantaged communities, men and boys or people from black and minority ethnic populations. 

To be eligible the individual must have been actively volunteering for at least three years, having had a particular impact in the last 12 months. This award is not restricted to affiliated members of England Netball.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Mary Bulloch Administrator Award is presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of netball at any level by way of administration.

To be eligible nominees must be affiliated to England Netball and have volunteered for a minimum period of three years having had particular impact in the last 12 months.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Muriel McNally Award is presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of netball at grassroots level for 10 years or more.

To be eligible nominees must be affiliated to England Netball, and have supported grassroots netball development at club level in administration, coaching or umpiring for a minimum period of 10 years. Nominations may be made by a club and be seconded by a County or regional Netball Association.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Netball Teacher Award is presented to a teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of netball in primary and / or secondary school, outside of their statutory teaching responsibilities.

To be eligible the nominee must be affiliated to England Netball (either as an individual or via the school) and have volunteered for a minimum period of three years having had particular impact in the last 12 months.

 

The Netball Yorkshire Officials Award is presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to officiating in netball.

To be eligible nominees must have officiated on a voluntary basis for at least three years, having had particular impact in the last 12 months. This award includes umpires, table officials and scorers. They must be affiliated to England Netball and hold an England Netball Officiating Award. This award excludes officials officiating in The FIAT Netball Superleague

 

The Netball Yorkshire Outstanding Netball Club Award is presented to a netball club which has made an outstanding contribution within their community.

To be eligible the club must have been active for at least three years, having had particular impact in the last 12 months. They must be affiliated to England Netball and hold a current CAPS award.
