A primary criterion for admission to most college and university visual art programs is the assessment of the portfolio. Students should include a variety of finished pieces in your portfolio that demonstrate your ability to work with a wide range of techniques, materials and subject matter. Every university or college has different portfolio requirements so it is important to research each school before you apply.
