Dr.Hedgewar,the founding father of the RSS, was opposed

to the policy of minority appeasement adopted by the Congress.He was of the opinion that separate electorate plus weightage will be harmful and may ultimately lead to the partition.Of course his apprehensions were confirmed by later developments.He has strongly opposed this viwe even before Lokmanya Tilak and other senior leaders could think of it .The Moplah revolt,in which thousands of Hindus were brutally killed and subjectted to shame and dishonour,perturbed perturb him.He realized that if India has to progress .Then there is no alternative but to organize the HINDUS .He wanted brotherhood to prevail among different groups of Hindus as was among Ram,Bharat,Lakshman and Shatrughan.

            Though there are more than 150 different ways of worship in India,they do not affect the nationality of the people .Even the family system has knot been disturbed by it.In Punjab there is not bar in organizing marriges between Sanatanis and Shikhs.Similarly,in Delhi there are inter marriages between Vaishnavas and Jains among the Aggarwals.In neo-Buddhistsw and Vaishnavas of Maharashtra,inter marriages are common.

               Not to speak of nationality,the different forms of worship have not affected the family cohesion.We want all people to live in harmony.It is evident from the literature of all the Indian languages that they adore the nation and culture equally well. Dr Hedgewar always laid clear emphasis on showering more and more love,devotion,dedication and commitment to the mother-land,its culture and heritage.

               In 1925,when Dr.Hedgewar started mobilising Hindus.People ridiculed him ,saying that mobilising Hindus is like an attemp to weigh frogs.Notwithstanding those arguments Dr Hedgewar founded the sangh and

contiued the work.RSS continues to spread its message in all sections of the society and all over the world.Today we can confidently claim that we have succeeded in our endeavour.Today,the sangh sakhas are held at more than

40,000 places,everyday.there is no tehsil in the country where there is no RSS shakha.Even now we are the largest and unique organization in the country,though we hope to organize more than two lakh shakhas in the coming five years.

            RSS shakhas are attended by people belonging to all sections of the society,irrespective of their language,cast or form of worship.Though RSS is open to Muslims and Christians and though the response from those sections are rather feeble,there are some who,having understood the ideology of RSS,attend RSS shakhas and participate in its activities.However,the number of Muslims and Christians who are actively involved in the other organizations linked with RSS,such as BMS,ABVP etc,is quiet large.

              RSS is not opposed to any form of worship, including that of Muslims and Christians,though propaganda to the contrary is being carried on by vested and anti-national elements(having their roots in extra territorial loyalties).Many of them still remember their original castes,as well as their surnames.We cannot afford to disown them,since our ancestors are common and have common bondages culture and tradition.We are very clear in our ideology when we say that change of religion does not mean change of nationality.

      During recent mass contact programme undertaken by the RSS many Muslims and Christians families were contacted.They were clearly told that the term Hindu does not connote a religion,as told by the British rulers.

Hindu is a nation and the nationals of Hindustan are identified as Hindus.Apart from the intellectuals,even the common Muslims and Christians have started subscribing to the concept of Hindu Rashtra as propounded by RSS .

It will be difficult for the Muslims to join the mainstream of Hindu society,unless the two-nation theory that led to the partition is discarded.

            The RSS is active in 40 countries outside India, bearing different names.Apart from this,we have established contacts inabout 50 other countries.Wherever there are Hindus in the world,our swayamsevaks are contacting them and are helping them.The feeling of pride in being a Hindu is developing among Hindus,the world over.The credit for infusing this pride rightly goes to RSS only.

        There are about 40 organisations,with which the swayamsevaks are closely associated.Whatever it is the ABVP,BMS,or VHP and KISAN SANGH ,VANAVASI KALYAN ASHRAM,etc.they hold the key positions.This shows the high quality of the individuals produced by the RSS.Today we are running over 29,000 service projects and 19,000 schools,mostly in remote and backward areas of the country.

        We started the service projects in Jharkhand and Chattisgarh regions and now they are being extended to North-East region.The tribals in the North-East have4 begun to understand that they are a part of indu society. We Have also started organizing Hindu-Buddhist conventions to emphasis that Bhudda was after all a product of Hindusthan and that our spiritual and historical aspirations are common.

              Looking back,RSS can be legitimately proud of its achievewment in its 82 years of endeavour of building a mighty nation.The work of Nation-building is a continuous process.Much has been done and much more is yet to be done.
