The great war ,known as DHARMAYOUDHYA to rest of the world is KURUKSHETRA YOUDHYA.One of the general of that historic war was BHIMPUTRA GHOTUTCOSE.He was son of this courageous land Assam.
The war monger and courageous warrior ,self respected national Hero LACHIT BARPHUKAN was son of this soil.Who killed his own uncle during construction of an artillery bunkar and parados.LACHIT had given responsibility to his uncle to construct that.
Which bunkar was supposed to be build in a night,because stupid MOGAL ARMY is waiting on the west bank of river BRAHMAPUTRA to attact AHOM kingdome. So that bunkar was very important for AHOM ARMY and in that period LACHIT BARPHUKAN was general of AHOM ARMY.So it was his responsibility to protect Assam from MOGAL.But his uncle was so loose with his duty .So when LACHIT had found that his uncle was loose in his duty then he killed his uncle with his own sword.At that moment he said ,"DESHATKOI MOMAI DANGAR NAHOY.(MY UNCLE IS NOT SO IMPORTANT THAN MY MOTHERLAND.)"
The AHOM princess MULAGAVARU was valorous daughter of this kingdome,when she heard that her husband had been killed in the battle field by the MOGAL ARMY ,then immediately she had makeup her mind and prepared herself to fight against those MLECHCH MOGAL.KANAKLATA ,who was able to be headache of BRITISH emperor during freedom movement of INDIA.She was courageous daughter of this state.The first freedom fighter of INDIA, GOMDHAR KONOWAR was son of this soil.MANIRAM DEWAN,PEEOLI PHUKAN ,KOSHAL KONOWAR etc. were prominent freedom fighter of HINDUSTHAN.

Every year on 6th day of BAISHAKH month, MAYONGIAN arranges a procession from RAJA MAYONG to BURA MAYONG PAHAR (MAA KAMAKSHYA temple) with five GODS of MAYONG (GANESH,DINESH,BISHNU,SHIVA and PARVATI).That hill is secred DHAM of MAA KAMAKSHYA.On that day MAA KAMAKSHYA meets with 33 crore DAMI GODS on that hill.The 'HORA GAURY'idole of that temple is carring the witness of that myth till today.
MAYONG is situated in KAMPITH of olden KAMRUP.So it indicates that this land is one of the oldest place of SHAKTAISM. SHAKTAISM got it's extreme point in this land.Many idole of MAA KAMAKSHYA and HARAGOURY are situated here and there sarounding MAYONG is the witness of worship of SHAKTAISM by MAYONGIAN .
There is a hill in MAYONG, whose name is BURABURI. BURABURI means LORD SHIVA and PARVATI.The idole of GANESHZEE ,LORD SHIVA and PARVATI on the BURABURI hill is witness of the name.Foot steps of PACHAPANDAVA on BURA BURI hill is the witness of an old civilization of epic era.There was an idole LORD BISHNU had found near BURABURI hill in 1970,which is now at GUWAHATI state museam. Maximum temple of MAYONG is SHAKTA temple.As for example -KECHAI KHAITI THAN ,BHAGAWATI MANDIR,BURI AI THAN ,KALIKA GOSANI temple and BURABURI THAN.There is a myth about the BHAGAWATI temple that not only animal but also human being were killed before the goddess for welfare of local people.The sword and other equipments of slaughter were preserved in that temple till today .Those are proofe of that olden tradition.

infront of the temple ,wearing red cloth then the Goddess of the temple hiptonise he or she.
In middle of 20 century, a villager ,named PADUMI SHAIKIA went to that temple ,the lady was wearing a red saree.Suddenly the Goddess appeared and hiptonised her . Automatically the villager woman had entered to the temple and she had vanished in to the
hill .Immediately the local villagers had come and rescued her.But she had no longer in this earth.
The lovely son of mother DURGA is GANESH zee.He is always alart and ready to help mother DURGA.That's why GANESH zee is standing like a guard in to four direction of MAYONG.One is at HATIMURIYA and another one is at BURABURI.Both the temple is situated in to east direction of MAYONG.There is a GANESH temple in west side of MAYONG .It is situated at GABARDHAN pahar .That hill is naturaly beautyful,the river KALANG is flowing through west side of the hill.There is another temple in to north direction of MAYONG and that is situated at SANAKA hill,on the bank of the river BRAHMAPUTRA. That location is so beautyful to develop tourism industry.There is a temple of LORD NARASHINGHA near by the temple.
THE LARGEST SRI GANESH IDOL IN THE WORLD
The GANESH idole of BAHA PAHAR is the bigest natural stone idole in the world.Aproximately the height of the idole is 14(FOURTEEN) feet.The temple is situated on the bank of the river KALANG, in to the south direction of MAYONG.The location is so beautyfull.But it is neglected on the sight of the adminastration to develop the place as international tourist spot and piligrim centre.Every year at the time of ASHOKASTAMI ,the local people organise a cultural and trad fair.There are so many piligrims come from various part of ASSAM and take bath in to the river KALANG.After bath they worship in that temple and pays homage to their forfathers. It's very olden tradition among HINDU people.
MA BHAGAWATI is sitting cum and quitely in the middle of MAYONG.And the lovely son of MAA DURGA, GANESH ZEE is guarding her from every direction.Which mother is protected by her child then the mother is so lucky and free from any danger .The MAHAPITH KAMPITH is JUNIPITH .JUNI means creation.Where BRAHMA is created that is BRAHMAJUNI.So mother means BRAHMA and sex part of woman.That's why MAYONG is secret land of MA KAMAKSHYA.
MAYONGIAN worshiped a planet in encient time.The name of the planet was MAYA or BYADHI. MAYONGIAN imagined, that planet as blackart sorcery.Perhaps it was the starting of ASTROLOGY and practice of WITCHCRAFT.That's why Assam was known to rest of the world as PRAGJYOTISHPUR.

R.SATHINATH AIER had written on his book 'INDIAN HISTORY'that Assam is a dangerous country to invade and the MUSLIM invaders were terified not only by its physical features but also the people who were believed to be the great magicians.
Dr.Birincy Kumar Baruah had said that Tantric Mantras or slokes,which are spread in Assam,those are collected from 'ATHARBA VEDAS' Books of BUDDHISM,Tantra Shastras of HINDUISM and indiginous faith of Tribal people.It is mentioned on the book"Sankar Digvijoy Grantha' that during traveling period of SANKARACHARYA in all over INDIA,when he reached KAMRUP then met a Tantric scholar Abhinava Gupta and there was a debate in between both of them.Avinava Gupta had lost in the debate and he feels gealous to Sankaracharya.The Tantric had applied witchcraft mantra to Sankaracharya and for that he had suffering from piles and at last he had died in that disease .On 16 th century Saint of Shikhism GURU NANAK DEV had came to Assam.At that time he had mentioned that Hindu Assamese women were very efficient in witchcraft and Maya Bidya.He also mentioned that One of his disiple in named Madan had turn into a sheep due to application of Witchcraft and Maya Bidya.
Muslim invaders and Historian had mentioned on their traval note that HINDU Assamese people had a tradition before starting of war .They believed that if a red cloth hang like flag in a country boat of banana tree and if it is floats in to the direction of enemy then the opposite enemy warriors loss the battle. An ancestor of Mayongian Royal dynasti,the king GHOTOTCOSE had applied witchcraft and Maya Bidya in KURUKSHETRA War against KAURAVA and he compelled them to loss the battle.

The Tribal community of olden KAMRUP worshiped 'JUNI PITH' to increase fertility of soil.As for examples,'JUNI PITH' is known to JAYANTIYA community of MEGHALAYA as 'BURA GOSANI DEVI', KHASI people says 'KHAMAIKHA',the Goddes known to DIMACHA community as 'HEREMDI'.According to 'KALIKA PURANA'Shaktaism is spread in Kamrup during ruling period of the king JANAK PUTRA ,NARAKASUR.'KALIKA PURANA 'is written in Kamrup in 11 th century.
The root of Matrimonial system of MEGHALAYA is SHAKTAISM.It is mentioned in 'RUDRA JAMAL' and 'MAHACHINACHAR'Grantha that Saint BASHISTHA went to CHINA via KAMRUP to study 'BAMACHAR SADHANA'. BAMACHAR SADHANA is one sort of Tantric Bidya.And MAYONG was famous for that Tantrism.
Pandit Kanak Lal Baruah had written in his book 'Early History of Kamrup' that,
'The Kamrup King prbably Brahmapal adopted Tantrism as their tent,and as a result of royal petronage,KAMAKSHYA soon become the renowned of Tantric sacrifies."
Now question is that,what is MANTRA ? May be a Monk madited for many years to his ISTA DEV(SHULAPANI,SHIVA, and DEVI BHAGAWATI) and as a result,he was able to get some super natural power.In that position some sound had come out from his heart .Those sounds and words became MANTRA of Witchcraft and Tantrism.As for examples---
"OM HRING CRING CRING FOT SAHA."
That MANTRA has no meaning but if it is pronounce by a noble Monk,then any kind of danger may be turn into a safe custody.
MAYONG was apart of KAMPITH of olden Kamrup.It is sarrounded by three sacred rivers ,in name,(KALONG,KAPILEE and BRAHMAPUTRA.).It is also covered by MAYONG,GOBARDHAN,BAHA,BURABURI and KAMARPUR hill.There are so many small river flowing through heart of MAYONG .PABITARA ,naturaly beautyfull and thickly populated byone horn rhinoes,bird and other animals.The wild life centuryis also situated in MAYONG.
MAYONG become world headquarter of Tantrism and Witchcraft for beautyfull natural formation of land.Still now many pilligggrims and student of Witchcrft migrates to MAYONG to learn Tantrism.
According to history of MAYONG ,the dynasty of Mayong Ruler had been migrated from MYBONG.Which place is now situated in N.C.Hill District.The first Ruler of MAYONG dynasty was the king SHUINAT SHINGHA.That's why many people want to say that the name MAYONG had come from the word MYBONG.In TIWA language MYBONG means plenty of foods,rice and paddy.Even now also it is true that MAYONG is in the first position for production of BODO crops and fish.Bodo paddy is cultivated for the first time at
KHALONI .Which is avillage of MAYONG kingdome.
But due to negligencyof Assam government,this Agricultural small industry is going to be ruinday by day.Cultivators are notgetting reasonable supporting price for their products .It may be a cause for stop of economical development of Assam.

MAYONG has introduced PABITORA to the rest of the world as a tourist spot.It is paradise of one horn rhino.There is a myth that the name of this wild life sanctuary 'PABITARA' had come from ,MAYONG dynasty's 16 years old princess 'PABITORA'.In 1901,the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon District Mr. MAAR had fixed the dimarkation line of PABITARA wild life sanctuary.And the government India has decleared PABITARA as wild life sanctuary in 1971 on 18th November.PABITORA may be an important place of our country in the map of world tourism.
But 53 Hactors of land of this wild life sanctuary is encroaching by Bangladeshi Muslims and how many rhinoes are killed by those stupid Bangladeshi paochers,it is very difficult to count.It's lack of road communication ,that MAYONG has been turn in to an island for rest of Assam.But MAYONG has every potentiality to attract tourist from various part of the world.The Assam Goverment has to be develop tourism infrustructures in MAYONG.
