Project 2010:
In August 2010 we met in Leipzig/Berlin with 30 young people from Israel, Latvia and Germany.
What’s the aim of this youth exchange?
- meet and share life stories of older people (time witnesses of Nazi-dictatorship and communist regime in Germany, Lithuania and Israel)
- meet people who work in politics, churches and community services today
- discuss about the values and hopes of our generation
- discover the lifestyles of each other (including: stay in a host family for some days, go out together, sport activities)
- document your experiences with short movie clips, so that we can present a series of short movies at the end of the project
Preparation in your country
- meet your local group before the trip
- get information about the other countries
- research about selected contemporary witnesses
- exchange ideas and information via our project-website
For example: Leipzig, 18-23 August 2010
- City-Ralley on bicycles in Leipzig (prepared by the Germany)
- Present your country in a cultural evening for the other participants (with music, songs, movie clips, pictures, food, ...)
- BBQ evening in the park
- Make street-interviews and discuss them in the evening: How do people live in Leipzig? How do people integrate the past to their life? How do young people see their city today?
- Particpate in the ecumenical Youth Camp "Sehlis 2011" near Leipzig
- Experience the students life in Leipzig: University, Bars, Concert halls
- Stay in a German host family for two day
