The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test is a multiple-choice Standarised admission test for admission to graduate schools. The test is created and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), under the sponsorship of the Graduate Record Examinations Board.

The GRE is typically a computer-based exam known as Computerised Adaptive Testing (CAT) that is administered by select qualified testing centers. But in some countries paper-based exams are still offered because they are lacking basic requirements.

GRE exam consists of Three sections and one experimental section whose score is not included in the reported score. The three sections of the reported score are: Analytical Writing, Verbal and Quantitative.
