Austin Solar Energy Entrepreneurs Network |
The Austin SEEN is the Austin (Texas) Solar Energy
Entrepreneur’s Network. We are focused on promoting Solar Energy; Solar
Energy Technologies, Solar Energy Businesses, and Solar Energy Jobs. We
are a supply side organization, focused on the provision of this
renewable resource, in contrast to a demand side organization focused on
public policy. Founded in 2007, SEEN meets at Scholz Garten in the
outdoor bier garten. (Scholz is the oldest business in Texas, hosting
the newest businesses in Texas!)
CLEEN is the Clean Energy Entrepreneur Network. With CLEEN, we expanded SEEN broadly to recognize the broader aspects of Clean Energy: Generation, Storage, Smart Grid and Application Technologies. Our inaugural CLEEN event, held in February 2010 at the Long Center for the Performing Arts attracted 500 registrants. This venue allows Austin to shine in both technology and arts!
The SEEN and CLEEN events will alternate. The SEEN Events will continue to focus on Solar and will remain at Scholz Garten. The CLEEN Events with expanded focus will continue at the Long Center. The Long Center has graciously offered multiple venues throughout the facility and each CLEEN event will “sample” a new Long Center venue when possible.
SEEN / CLEEN #12 will be held on August 17 at The Long Center for the Performing Arts from 6:00 – 8:30 in the Kodosky Lounge.
Meet and discuss opportunities for starting and growing business in Central Texas in the Solar Energy Industry / Clean Energy Industry.
Vision:Purpose:
Who should attend?
- Entrepreneurs who are starting, or looking to start a solar-based business
- Investors looking to invest in the fast growing solar industry
- Technologists looking to share ideas for new products or services
- Employers in the solar field looking to hire people
- People looking to join solar startups
- Attorneys, Bankers and service providers interested in growing with the solar industry
Solar Energy, including Photovoltaics, Solar Thermal, or Concentrated Solar Power has been
growing at 67% per year, every year, for the last 10 years (Source:SEIA). Central Texas is well
positioned to become one of the nation’s leading centers of innovation for this exciting and
important technology. With resources like Austin Energy, the Clean Energy Incubator, the
University of Texas, and a strong base of venture capital and entrepreneurial talent, Austin can,
and should, compete with other areas in establishing or attracting solar energy startups. It takes
individuals and investors like you with a passion for renewable energy and a willingness to get
involved in starting and growing new companies to make it happen. We welcome you to join us,
network to find people with similar goals, or just be SEEN with solar entrepreneurs.
