Hi everyone - per requests - here are the instructions to use Google Earth. Sometimes you have to be patient, it can be slow & cranky.
1) In order to view either the wunderground file, the track files, or the hurricane hunters, you must have google earth on your computer. It is a free download and can be found on the Google Earth - Links page. 2) Once you have Google Earth, you then need to access the specific file that you want to load. For the wunderground information you have to actually download the file and save to your computer - it will give you the option to open after save, this is the best way. The KMZ file is on the front page of this site. 3) To view the tracks of the storms and other weather related items, look under your places to the grouping called Layers. To activate any of those simply click on the box on the left hand side. Tracks, etc are under "Weather". 4) To view the Hurricane Hunters as they are out, you can choose from several links - these are also on the links page. Both of these will open on download, again be patient, they are big files, and update automatically. If you would like to be added - please leave a comment or send me WU mail. Debbie |
