Statement of purpose

...to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students of colleges and universities; to promote closer fraternal relationship among students who are interested in classical study, including inter-campus relationship; to engage generally in an effort to stimulate interest in Classical study, and in the history, art, and literature of ancient Greece and Rome.

-Eta Sigma Phi Constitution

Our chapter goals

At our September 7 executive board meeting, the following were suggested as short and long-term goals for Alpha Xi. In no particular order:

--to achieve greater permanency (our chapter was recently revived after a long dormancy)
--to help others (community service, etc.)
--to have fun events
--to recognize academic achievement among Classics students
--to provide an opportunity for Classics students to be outstanding outside of class
--to increase Classics awareness on and off campus (Classics major? What's that?)
