The latest dollop of snow has hit South Shropshire, with more dollops (I am using a BBC Weather Forecasting technical term there, by the way) forecast so Sue has cancelled the meeting on Saturday 16th January. The AGM will now take place at the February meeting. The decision has been taken because with many members living so far away, whilst the main roads may be fine, getting from local roads onto the main roads is a problem - particularly for members not near key/priority gritting routes. Not only will several key committee members have difficulty getting in either because of the snow, some are recovering from winter illnesses. (Get well soon Barbara Groom). Even if members are able to get out, we don't know how easy or safe it will be to park at the meeting venue.
Sorry to pass on this bad news, but we'd much rather everyone stayed safe.
The February 2010 issue of the newsletter, which would be available at the January meeting on Saturday is available on the website for download at www.wrekinwriters.co.uk
You now have Saturday morning free, so go and play in the snow again with your kids, your neighbours or your animals, or alternatively, stay warm and do some writing! Please pass on this message to members who you know are not on email. Sue's ringing who she can, but we'd rather people were told three times than not at all.
Stay warm. Stay safe.
