Junior Section People

Our Coaches

Find information about our Junior Squad coaches below, complete with photos for identification.

Jon Beagley (Head Coach) - jon[at]wrcjnr.com

Jon took over responsibility for the Weybridge Junior Squad in October 2005.  Thanks to him and his team the Junior Squad has progressed immensely.  Jon has brilliant leadership and development skills, as well as being 100% committed to the Junior Squad.  He's a Head Coach any squad would love.

He has a brilliant memory for people and what they have done, and knows lots of people in the area.  although he does not himself row, he has a quite remarkable knowledge of the sport.  He supports Harlequins RFU, enjoys cricket (which he used to play regularly) and sings molto basso!

Clive Capel (Coach) - clive[at]wrcjnr.com

If you want to learn how to row from scratch, Clive is exactly who you want. Every week, Clive develops beginners into vastly improving rowers and, with Nick, runs regular beginner courses.  Clive also works closely with Jon, helping to make WRCjnr happen.  Clive also deals with the administration of the Junior section and is well known for the vast quantity of email correspondence generated each week in the service of the Junior section.  Clive is also a familiar sight at Regattas and Heads with his silver Landcruiser towing the clubs distinctive blue boats all over the South of England.  He is also a Harlequins RFU supporter and a member of the Walton & Weybridge Regatta committee.

Nick Coxhead (Coach) - nick[at]wrcjnr.com

Nick is good fun as a coach as well as being very reliable, and making you feel comfortable with what you are doing. He's open to any questions you might have, helping to encourage and improve our developing Juniors.  Nick is also a very practical man and maintains the boats we all use.  Nick runs regular beginner courses with Clive.

Graham Cocks (Coach)

Graham helps with the early session Juniors, and is always ready to lend a hand.  He is also a keen member of the Weyfarers rowing squad and currently completing his UKCC L2 coaching qualification

Katy Knowles - (WRC Head Coach) katy[at]wrcjnr.com

Katy joined Weybridge as a  Henley Stewards Charitable Trust coach,   but she liked it so much, she stayed on and was promoted to Club Head Coach. A keen rower, Katy has rowed at Women's Henley and has recently coached Dame Alice Harpur School, Bedford to a high standard.

Lisa Taylor (HSCT Coach) lisa[at]wrcjnr.com

Lisa is a Henley Stewards Charitable Trust coach, provided through the generosity of the Trust to assist smaller clubs with coaching.  We share her time with Guildford Rowing Club and Walton Rowing Club.
