The Mentoring Program is open to both members and potential members of the WPWVC-ACRL. Right now, the program requires only filling out an application to indicate your interest in either being mentored or serving as a mentor, along with any areas of librarianship in which you either have expertise (mentor) or a desire to learn more (mentee). These areas will be used to match you with an appropriate mentor/mentee. To sign up for the program, please fill out the Mentoring Program Application Form. You should receive an email confirming your application within a week. To learn more about what is expected of you in this program, please view our Expectations for Mentors and Mentees. Once you have been matched, you will be asked to complete a brief contract. The relationship should last at least 6-9 months and should involve several good contacts each month, some in person or by phone. Our recommendation is that a 9-12 month working relationship is better. Kate Wenger of Chatham University and Carroll Wilkinson of West Virginia University are fostering this effort. They will match people and/or seek people who ask for a particular type of mentoring. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact them:
